Case Study
Kenneth was a participant in the first cohort for our Diploma Style Train the Trainer program for our popular IOSH Accredited Behavioural Science for Leadership in Safety Program earlier this year. There were 12 delegates from 6 nations and 10 very different organisations.
They are now able to formally deliver the IOSH Accredited Behavioural Science for Leadership in Safety Program to their operational leaders, managers and supervisors throughout their organisation or clientbase.
For anyone thinking about Train the Trainer… my question to you is will your leaders support what the programme is giving you? It’s a great offering.
If you are having to try and persuade your leaders and they haven’t seen the content then I’d encourage them to do the online version first and understand it, then I believe they will support it. I was fortunate – my manager is passionate about safety. Behavioural Science changes the mindset of people who are influencers.
I joined Breedon Group nineteen-months ago and had heard as I bounced around the business that a program had been brought in for addressing the needs of middle management, and I was effectively looking for a workshop for more senior management. My colleague had already been through the Behavioural Science program and suggested we both do Train the Trainer. We’re so glad we did.
The material is fresh. I honestly thought I knew all about ABC – but Darren has a very refreshing take on it. It was a good course for me as there was material that I’d never seen before. I also really liked Darren’s delivery and coaching style.
The presentations were memorable, and I never went away thinking I didn’t understand that. With some courses you come out at the end and realise you don’t remember much because the material was dry, but I’ve remembered every piece of this.
The team camaraderie was brilliant. There was enough time to get to know each other, everyone was driven, and I take my hat off to those whose first language isn’t English for studying for it. Darren’s style is very natural, and I’ve learnt loads of new stuff. I love the Pink Floyd analogies as well – it’s now on my playlist and every time it comes on it’s like a trip down memory lane.
